E. Jeannette's Story
Life
Its been an up and down hill, mostly good, yes we had a few bad times, who doesn't, but yet we managed to move on and Thank God today things are good. We all have our health, we love each other ( my kids and I ) I am a proud grand mother. I have a job I truly like and enjoy ( love being physical ) I guess the only thing missing is a Partner to share things with, but that day will come when I am ready. ( to picky with men ) LOL too independent. My daughter is 23 and is in a very good relationship, and just had a child Nov. 16, 2007. My darling grand daughter Jenna, beautiful as can be. My son James is 17, and is going through the normal teenage - young adult stage. Keeps me on my toes. Getting a new job was difficult after I was laid off from Rinker - Cemex ( takeover) But after 6 months of searching, unemployment benefits, I landed with Party City, and I feel blessed its a job I am truly enjoying, I get to travel all over Florida, I get to meet new people, learn new things on the job. Life is worth living and enjoying every minute. We cant waste it.
My Pet
Our Dog Baby, she is part German Sheppard, chao, and labrador. She loves to fetch and play. She is my side kick, and my son's best friend. She is
3 1/2 years now.
We found her during Christmas season, she was lost and no collar to identify if she had a owner, so we adopted her, and she has been our pride and joy ever since.
My Kids
Yes I would not trade them for anything in this world. Bestest thing that has happened to me. They keep me sane most of the time. LOL My daughter Jennifer made me a grandmother, our little bundle of joy, her name is Jenna, my son in law is David, and my son is now a 16 year old teenager. Live just keeps getting better & better.
My son is 17 and a joy to have, my mom is getting there in age, will be 93 this year, I was hoping she could come from dominican republic, and visit but her health is not well. She is having knee & hip problems and she is going a bit death in the ear. I am still Single and loving it, maybe one day I will be ready to share it with someone else.
My Job
My Job at this point of my life is very physical, I get to travel around the State of Florida, to different Party City Stores, and remodel them according to corporate plan. I belong to the North Team, we come in at 9pm at night after the store closes, and we are replacing the ballon cou...Expand for more
nters, for new ones, so we tear down the old one and build the a new one, we also move aisles around, its like I said pretty physical, good method of staying in shape hehehehehehe. I am in my 6th month, and I still like it very much, this part of the job will be over in August, and then I will be assigned as a merchandize person to one of the stores down here in Homestead, Florida. I am still part of the RGIS team, except I am on stand by because of my schedule with Party City. So once I go back to regular schedule I shall continue to do inventory on weekends. So far so good.
School
School has been put on hold for now. With work and taking care of my 17 year old son, at this time of my life dont have the time to dedicate to studying.
College
I went to a business school in 1979 and graduated from it in august of 1980, did a Travel/Business course. Took some time but so far I have 21 credits toward my Bachelor's degree. I am hoping one day before I die, to have my doctorate in Business management.
Workplace:
After graduating from Business School, I basically have done a little bit of everything. Jack of all trades but not completely defined as to what exactly I want to Manage yet. I hope that by the time I retire, I will be managing a store or a department. I love the freedom i get with the type of work I am doing at this time. I have never been very good at sitting in one place all day long, doing the same thing every day. I am the type of person that likes to move around and get things done. I love multi-tasking, I am the same way at home. If things do not get done when I ask then I myself make sure it gets done even if I have to do it myself. That is one of the things I love about this job I am doing now, with Party City, I get to move around, travel, work with my hands and learn new stuff. It keeps me busy and I do not get bored because you never know what is going to happen next.
My Dreams:
At this point of my life, the only thing I dream about is to see my kids accomplish themself in whatever they set their minds to it, to enjoy my new grand daughter Jenna, and to be able to continue to do this type of work until I cant no more. If it is God's wish for me to find my soul mate ( men ) to share the rest of my life with, then that will be a plus, until then, I continue my life as it is. I am pretty content and happy the direction it is going.
